From inhouse to our Vanguard platform

Converting any lottery to a new platform is a technical art, but working with a lottery as large as North West Air Ambulance’s is a specialist set of skills and processes few lottery providers can claim to possess. When NWAA decided to seek out a new supplier who could take over the management of their lottery, a tried and tested conversion process was high up their list of requirements. Having undertaken large conversions before with great success, we were more than equipped to take on the challenge.

Through careful planning and rigorous testing, the conversion of the lottery to our Vanguard platform went ahead without a hitch.

Converting lotteries is exciting – of course, it’s a massive undertaking and there are so many moving parts, and I can imagine that without our finely-honed conversion plan the process would be really stressful! But we’ve got a great team here who work together so closely, have their eyes all firmly on the ball, and that’s what makes my job project managing the conversions so rewarding. Seeing that first draw with Sterling take place is such a proud moment every time!

Working with NWAA to futureproof their lottery

NWAA have a really successful lottery built up over many years of hard work and investment in door-to-door fundraising. But as the landscape changes and the traditional channels become harder to manage and less cost-effective, charities are apportioning more of their lottery budget to retention and digital recruitment. NWAA were spending a disproportionate amount of time working ‘in’ the lottery, managing it, processing payments, handling player queries and not enough of their time working ‘on’ the lottery’s strategy and development.

Moving to Sterling meant that they could take a step back from the day-to-day running of the lottery (entrusting it to our steady hands) and focus on what’s next, guided by us through market-leading insights and best-in-class software features and developments.
